Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering is the base of engineering, civil engineers conceive, design, build, supervise, operate, construct and maintain infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector, including roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges and systems for water supply and sewage treatment. A civil engineer is concerned with determining the right design for these structures and looking after the construction process so that the longevity of these structures is guaranteed after completion. These structures should also be satisfactory for the public in terms of comfort.
The goal of the department is to produce high quality technical manpower needed in industry, R&D organizations and academic institutions and above all to meet the engineering needs of the nation.
