Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) encompasses a variety of topics that relate to computation, like analysis of algorithms, programming languages, program design, software, and computer hardware. Computer Science and engineering has roots in electrical engineering, mathematics, and linguistics

KCNIT possesses modern state-of-the-art infrastructure. The department has smart-classrooms, well-equipped laboratories furnished with latest and modern equipment along with the updated software to provide hands-on-training and practical exposure to students. The digitization of the library allows access to national / international journals, magazines and other academic support material. The Central Library is also equipped with reading halls, a reference section and 24X7 internal access.

The department aims to complement theory with practical approach by providing assistance to the students for completing summer training projects, encouraging regular interaction with the industry through seminars, guest lectures, conferences, corporate meets etc. The department conducts various coding contests on renowned platforms for the students on a regular basis. These practices increase the competitive spirit amongst the students and have given tremendous results in terms of placements.
